Kiley Connery is set to play collegiate-level soccer at Colorado Christian University (CCU).

Connery, a Peoria native and graduate of Liberty High School, will head to Lakewood, Colorado, to take the next step in her playing career.

“Kiley is a strong defender with an incredible work ethic,” said Tammy McPherson, head coach of the women’s soccer team for CCU. “She is very technical on the ball and is excellent at distributing out of the back. Her ability to make penetrating passes will benefit us offensively. She is a hard worker and is excited to become a Cougar.”

To this point, Connery has experienced a decorated career on the pitch.

While at Liberty, she was awarded First-Team All-Conference. She also earned First-Team All-Region Honorable Mention and All-District Defender at the 6A level.

Not to be outdone is her career at the club level.

She helped lead her club team to a victory in the 2018 ECNL Showcase Cup. Connery is also an Arizona State Cup champion, Desert Premier League champion and Far West Region champion.

Starting in the fall, Connery will add a dynamic addition to the Cougars’ defensive unit.

“I chose CCU because I honestly believe that’s where God has planned for me to be,” Connery said.

“Everything aligned perfectly, as if it was meant to be. Christ-like values are incorporated in every aspect of life on campus, from the school curriculum and community to their athletics, and that was something I couldn’t pass up. I am so very blessed and excited to be playing soccer there, come this August, and being able to honor God while playing the sport I love.”
