Liberty High girls golf team

Coach Kyle Pooler’s Liberty High girls golf team finished fifth in the state. Led by junior Mattison Frick, the individual champion, and sophomore Brooke McGlasson, the Lady Lions may make a run for the title next year.

Coached by Kyle Pooler, Liberty High took fifth place in the Girls Golf Division 1 State Championship.

Mattison Frick, a junior, took the state championship. After scores of 76 and 75 in the two-round tournament left her in a tie for first place, she kept her nerve and won a one-hole playoff.

Frick continues to excel for the Lady Lions. Last year, she was third in the state as a sophomore—after also finishing third in her freshman year.

Following close in her footsteps is Brooke McGlasson, a sophomore who tied for seventh place out of 80 golfers. She carded scores of 80 and 76.
