Elected officials get failing grades

To U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko, Arizona Sen. Rick Gray and Arizona Reps. Kevin Payne and Tony Rivero: Two weeks have passed and not one of you responded to either the emails or open letter I sent to the Peoria Times. I am concerned that you are ignoring the needs of your constituents and are unwilling to address their concerns.

Your grades as elected representatives are as follows: Gray — F; failed to reply to his constituents and voted for HB 2338, which authorized concealed carry firearms near our schools; Payne — F; failed to reply to his constituents, introduced and voted for House Bill 2371, to directly benefit his food truck business and also voted for the HB 2338 concealed carry bill; Rivero — F; failed to reply to his constituents throughout the months of April, May or June and voted for HB 2338 concealed carry bill; Lesko — F; failed to reply to her constituents and ran away from Ady Barkan, a man who suffers from ALS, and called Lesko on the carpet for her complicit support of Speaker Paul Ryan’s plan to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security (source- azcentral).

As your constituent, I cannot say you represent the interests of myself or my family. As a Republican and Army veteran, I am disappointed in your leadership and lack of support for our citizens. As a native Arizonan, I will work to see that my children inherit and create a better Legislature.
