Happy children on Halloween party

"Make sure you keep your Halloween costumes on all day long on Saturday, Oct. 26 because there will be fun events for the children throughout the city of Peoria."

Welcome, everyone, to another edition of Business Briefcase, where we address all the great happenings in the local business world — whether it be openings, closings, construction and development, ribbon-cutting ceremonies and expansions, chamber mixers and networking events or anything else. Even construction alerts.

For those who attend Liberty High School or use 95th Avenue and Deer Valley, construction will begin soon to install a traffic signal along with other improvements (removal and replacement of the corner ramps and removal of the existing “z” crossing on Deer Valley Road once the new signal and crosswalks have been installed). The construction will be Monday through Friday after school. The project is to end in early 2020. For more information contact the project hotline at 602-532-6250.

Make sure you keep your Halloween costumes on all day long on Saturday, Oct. 26 because there will be fun events for the children throughout the city of Peoria.

The first free event will be held at the different Targets throughout the Valley, hosting a Paw Patrol Trick-or-Treat event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In Peoria, it will be at the two Targets: 24890 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway and 8055 W. Bell Road. Children will be able to trick-or-treat throughout the store, watch episodes of “Paw Patrol” and there will be giveaways as well.

Looking for a fun night out with the family or looking for a cute date night idea? Peoria has a free event called Second Saturday at Old Town Peoria. It started on Saturday, Oct. 12, and happens every second Saturday of each month until May 9. There will be unique, themed pop-up restaurants every second Saturday. Not only will there be food, there will be live performances, interactive art and local vendors. It is free to the public but for $30, visitors can choose one of three themes menus cooked by a professional chef. For dinner tickets visit peoriaaz.gov/specialevents

For real estate professionals who are having trouble listing their business on Google, there will be a free Google My Business for Real Estate Professional.

It will be held at American Title Service Agency, 16150 N. Arrowhead Fountains Center Drive, Suite 160, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Guests will be able to engage with customers on Google for free with a Google My Business account. The event will be presented by Keith Flynn, director of digital marketing, who will cover various Google Business listing questions that guests may have. RSVP to AzRealEstateTraining.com

The Arrowhead Valley Retirement Resort hosts Hometown Heroes Veterans Day Open House from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11. The retirement resort is located at 20025 N. 81st Avenue.

At the fun event honoring the veterans, there will be movies, food and live music. Admission is free for veterans and $5 for each guest. To register or for more information, visit peoriachamber.com.

That’s all the briefs for this week. Thanks for reading!
