Peoria Rotary is presenting a banquet titled “Who We Are, What We Do” to recognize members of student service clubs based at Peoria and Centennial high schools. Students from each school will show photos and videos of service projects they have completed and talk about their plans for the coming school year.
Thirty students from each school are expected to attend.
The banquet is being held at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at Southwest Indian Ministries Center, 14202 N. 73rd Ave. Dillon’s Restaurant is catering the meal, while Centennial Culinary Arts students will provide dessert. The Peoria High School student jazz band will entertain.
Emcees for the evening are former Peoria Mayor Bob Barrett and his wife, Rachelle Barrett, president of Peoria Sunset Lions Club. Rotary, civic organizations, chamber and student organization representatives will give brief statements about their activities in service to the community.
Admission is free for students; $10 per person for parents and school staff; $20 for community members.
Arrowhead Lexus, Councilmember Vicki Hunt and David and Joan Evans are sponsors for the banquet. There is no cost to either school. Any proceeds will go to the schools.
