An alleged hidden camera led police on an investigation that resulted in a child pornography arrest.
Brandon Sheffert of the Peoria Police Department said the investigation of Robert Miller, a massage therapist, began on Feb. 10.
“An extremely aware customer noticed an odd item plugged into an outlet in the massage room, discovered it was a hidden video camera, and police were contacted,” said Sheffert.
He said Miller, 52, works as a massage therapist with New Serenity Massage / Pain Management Arizona. Miller provided massages at a Phoenix office as well as in Peoria. The address of the Peoria New Serenity Massage is 13460 N 94th Drive.
“It appears Miller was recording customers before, during and after massages he performed. Miller’s behavior would have not surfaced if it was not for the victim coming forward,” said Sheffert.
Miller was arrested Feb. 12 at his home in Phoenix after a search warrant was served on his residence.
“During the search, detectives located hundreds of images of child pornography, sex toys that resemble children and videos of customers during their massages,” said Sheffert.
Miller was processed at the Peoria Police Department and was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail.
“I want to thank the observant and brave victim who brought this forward to our department and want to thank our detectives for their hard work investigating such disgusting crimes and quickly taking a true criminal off the streets,” said Peoria Police Chief Art Miller.
