Mayor Cathy Carlat recently gave The Links Neighborhood Grill her Restaurant of the Month prize for February.
Nestled along the Westbrook Village Vistas Golf Course near 83rd Avenue and Union Hills Road, Gabriel Rivas has been operating The Links Neighborhood Grill since 2010.
Rivas has long envisioned the restaurant as more than just a place to eat but truly a neighborhood grill where family, friends and neighbors could gather. One look at the friends and families catching up in the dining room, and a bar that is adorned with the hats of those lucky enough to hit a hole-in-one, and it is easy to see that Rivas has achieved just that.
With a large outdoor patio and indoor dining that provides scenic views of manicured greens, this restaurant is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its menu is broad and includes a variety of specialties, like house-smoked meats, pizza, burgers, pastas, street tacos, and light and hearty.
Even though The Links has felt the impact of the pandemic, it continues to serve as exceptional community partners.
“We’ve been here 10 years, and it’s really the community that has supported us,” Rivas said. “We needed to find a way to help them out, and we’ve been able to give back in a way that’s made a huge impact.”
To date, The Links has donated more than 600 meals to Peoria families through six city of Peoria Grab ’n’ Go events.
“The Links has been a longtime community favorite, and I feel lucky to have them in the Ironwood district,” said Councilmember Bill Patena.
“Gabe and his team work hard to not just provide great meals with a fantastic view, but they remain an active community partner as well, providing free meals for many of Peoria’s outreach and engagement initiatives.”
The Links Neighborhood Grill is located at 18823 Country Club Parkway, Peoria. It offers dine-in that is safe and socially distanced, patio service, or to-go options. For additional information, contact 623-561-1681 or visit
