Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and the Department of Defense have awarded Dr. Anthony Dicello, owner of A Glowing Smile Dental Care, and Cathy Davis, his office manager, the Patriot Award for supporting their National Guard and Reserve employees.
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” Dennis Bash, Arizona ESGR Military Outreach Coordinator Volunteer, said. “Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
Dicello and Davis were nominated by Chief Master Sgt. Wendy L. Bannon, a member of the United States Air Force Reserve. The award was given July 18 because Dicello and Davis “ensured that whatever time I needed, even with short notice, I could do whatever I had to do to support myself, my family and my country,” Bannon said. “This award is my way and the military’s way of showing that we understand and greatly appreciate the sacrifices that you make for the United States of America and the United States Air Force and for me.”
Dicello and Davis said they were honored to be awarded the Patriot Award.
“To all of us at Glowing Smile Dental Care, supporting those that defend our country is the right thing to do,” Dicello said.
