Benevilla Home Services Program

Assistance with grocery shopping is a vital service offered free through the Benevilla Home Services Program.

The nonprofit Benevilla has joined Arizona Gives Day 2021, a grassroots statewide day of giving inviting residents to support their favorite charities by visiting

Donations are accepted through April 6.

This year, donations are needed even more due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The crisis has become especially hard for seniors who struggle to remain independent at home. Donations received through this online platform will support Benevilla’s free Home Services Program.

There are approximately 254,000 West Valley residents who are seniors or adults with disabilities, and many of them do not have a personal support network to assist them. Benevilla is continuing to meet the urgent needs of older adults in the West Valley with its volunteer-driven Home Services Program that offers free grocery shopping assistance, phone pals, emergency errands (pharmacy), light handyman services, and transportation to vital medical appointments.

The nonprofit is seeing a decrease in the number of able volunteers, as many are seniors themselves.

To jump start this year’s campaign, an anonymous donor has promised to match donations dollar for dollar to Benevilla up to the first $5,000 raised for Arizona Gives Day, therefore, doubling the impact of the public’s gifts. Donations through April 6 via will count toward the organization’s fundraising total.

Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a not-for-profit family services agency dedicated to enriching the lives of West Valley residents by providing care services for older adults, adults with disabilities, children and families.
