Tower Compactor recently donated $105,000 to Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona. The two companies have worked together for more than a decade. The donation will be used to improve the 67th Avenue and Peoria Career Center.
“We are so appreciative of Tower Compactor’s generous gift,” said Julie Dunnigan, vice president, philanthropy. “The Career Center at 67th Avenue and Peoria will become our new flagship center, providing holistic career development and training services to anyone in the community at no cost. The renovation will include a new online training space, enhanced technology, and a classroom for in-person classes and learning.”
The remodel is expected to be finalized in 2022. Goodwill serves over 15,000 people a year through its in-person and virtual career services. Job seekers can get help updating their resume, mock interviewing, education or participate in a digital skills training.
Goodwill also operates
MyCareerAdvisor.com, a 24/7 online experience for job seekers to connect with career navigators and participate in education and training, read informative articles, and obtain self-directed skills training and certifications or search for available jobs in their area.
“Tower Compactor Rentals has been a wonderful partner and supporter of Goodwill for over nine years, and we are humbled by their ongoing generosity,” said Marc Verrochi, partner.
“This pledge comes at a critical time. The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way we serve our community. The gift from Tower Compactor Rentals will allow us to outfit the career center with the technology and equipment Arizona’s job seekers need, allowing them to access the resources and skills necessary to secure jobs at higher wages and work their way out of poverty.”
