Pre-St. Patrick’s Day walks and runs

Pre-St. Patrick’s Day walks and runs take place Friday and Saturday at Westgate.

The Kilt Lifter Kilt run starts at 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Westgate Entertainment District.

The fun- and fundraiser starting line is on Coyote Boulevard in front of Gila River Arena.

The idea of the pre-St. Patrick’s Day race is “to raise some green for the American Cancer Society.”

Participants of all ages can walk or run the 1-kilometer course.

The run/walk raises money for Relay for Life Glendale/Peoria. The last three years the Kilt Lifter Kilt Run has raised over $35,000 and broke the Arizona record for the number of runners in a Kilt.

All finishers will receive a kilt, medal and a beverage at McFadden’s, where live music will play.

The 10th annual Fulton Homes Kiss Me I’m Irish Run starts at Westgate at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 14. Participants can run or walk a 4k, 8k or half marathon.

Saturday’s run/walks start and end in the party plaza at Westgate Entertainment District, near the fountains.

Participants will receive a limited edition embroidered 10th-anniversary runners jacket, finishers medal, plus entry into the McFadden’s finishers party with a complimentary Guinness (for those 21 and over).

Registration starts at $30. For more information or to register, visit irishrunaz.com.
