Just north of the Planetpalooza celebration at Centennial Plaza last weekend was a less crowded, but just as colorful exhibit inside Peoria City Hall. West Valley Art Museum, which is usually only open Monday through Thursday, was showing off winning art work.
There was dancing at the community center, vendors (yes, food trucks) in the streets, and arts and crafts vying for dollars in Osuna Park. There was even a Valley Metro bus with a wrap design created by a Cactus High School student.
A city lease of buildings occupied by the Peoria Arizona Historical Society (PAHS) was terminated on July 23. Given this development, the city will be taking steps to ensure historic items within the facility are properly maintained.
