Camp Bow Wow Peoria is hosting a free open house and a dog wedding, in hopes of raising awareness for rescue dogs needing forever homes. The bride, a rescue dog herself is named Ms. Puggles and the groom is Otis. Both are Puggles, which are half pug and half beagle. To raise awareness of rescued dogs in need of adoption, Camp Bow Wow opens its doors to the public 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 21 for family and dog-friendly activities, including a free dog obedience class, camp tours, a dog-shaped bounce house, giveaways and free wedding cake for humans and canines.
Everyone is welcome to bring their dogs to socialize with other dogs, as well as visit and meet several local rescue groups with dogs ready for adoption. Camp Bow Wow is at 8550 N. 91st Ave. (between Olive and Northern Ave.). The wedding ceremony takes place 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Guests can RSVP at 623-773- 2275 to ensure enough cake for humans and dogs.
