Peoria, it’s time to rock out (or folk out, or classical out . . .).
Make Music Day is Sunday, June 21.
More than 1,000 communities are joining Peoria in a global celebration of music and making music on the longest day of the year.
Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world online on the longest day of the year.
Professional, amateur and non-musicians are invited to pick up an instrument and join in the music celebration.
Families can participate with creative ideas like Bash the Trash and Window Serenades, which can be found at makemusicday.org.
All participants can share YouTube and Vimeo links to the website portal at peoria.makemusicday.org.
From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 21, all the music created by Peoria residents will be displayed at facebook.com/peoriaazarts.
Residents are encouraged to follow along and tag their own posts with the hashtag #MakeMusicPeoria.
