Mayor Cathy Carlat awarded Westside Signarama as the Mayor’s Business of the Month for May 2018.

Located in the business complex at the southeast corner of 87th Avenue and Kelton Lane, Westside Signarama has been serving the Peoria community and beyond with custom signage for nearly 15 years.

Owner Ken Parsons, who describes himself as a “born entrepreneur,” found himself drawn to the manufacturing field and looking for a business-to-business model. That interest led him and his wife, Fran, to open Westside Signarama in 2003.

Carlat said, “The Parsonses are dedicated and active community partners. They are deeply involved in the generous activities of the Peoria North Rotary Club, freely giving their time and energy to benefit those in need. As vice chair of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Ken Parsons displays his characteristic hands-on approach in advocating for the small business community. Additionally, as a Peoria Diamond Club member, he provides support to the operations of the Peoria Sports Complex for the benefit of local youth charities.”

Westside Signarama has received several awards over the years, including the Customer Service Excellence award by the Peoria Chamber of Commerce. As Rotary assistant governor, Ken Parsons is also the recipient of a five-time Paul Harris Fellowship Pin, which is a prestigious recognition within Rotary.

Married for 32 years, Fran Parsons shared that she is “meticulous about the details,” while Ken often focuses on the “big picture.”

Carlat said, “The Parsonses pride themselves on working alongside every customer to produce the best design and highest quality product. This service model has contributed to an ever-successful Peoria location that offers nearly every type of custom sign; including banners, glass signs, wall graphics, canvas artwork, plaques and car wraps.”
