Carol L. Schomisch 55, of Peoria, died June 22, 2017, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Carol was born Oct. 7, 1961, daughter of Dan and Betty Schomisch.
Carol grew up in Kingsford, Mich. and following her graduation from Kingsford High School in 1979, she attended Northern Michigan University for two years. She moved to Arizona in 1982 and worked for the State of Arizona, in the Disability Determination Department, where she advanced her way to clerical supervisor. Carol retired in June 2016 after 27 years of loyal and dedicated service. She loved to read, watch movies and spend time with her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her father, Dan Schomisch of Avon Park, Fla.; her sister, Valerie (Russ) Garrett of Iron Mountain, Mich.; and her brother, David aka “Poopy” to Carol (Michelle) Schomisch of Lakeland, Fla.; nephews, Ryan Cousineau and Matt Cousineau of Kingsford, Mich., and Michael (Angela) Cousineau of Iron Mountain, Mich.; a niece, Brittany Brownlow of Lakeland, Fla.; nephew, Patrick Flannagan of Lakeland, Fla.; great-niece, Addison Marie also of Lakeland, Fla.; and many very close friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Schomisch, in June 2016 and one of her very dear friends, Allison Graham, in November 2015. Carol was very loved by family and many friends and will be sadly missed.
