Missing man found dead at Lake Pleasant; authorities say no foul play suspected

Joseph Casey

A man who went missing at Lake Pleasant in June was found dead, according to a press release from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
The body of Joseph Casey, 34, was recovered July 6 after authorities received a call that a body was found in the area of French Creek and Castle Creek roads in Lake Pleasant.
He was last seen getting into an unknown dark-colored vehicle on June 21 at the north end of Lake Pleasant after his 2005 Jeep Wrangler had broken down and Casey was reportedly going to get help. Officials said he had not been seen or heard from since getting into the unknown vehicle.
According to a police spokesperson, officers received the call about a body July 6 and it was identified July 9 as Casey.
Authorities say there were no signs of foul play or trauma on the body and the cause of death has been determined accidental.
