Peoria operates daily emergency heat relief and hydration stations

With Valley temperatures soaring, it’s important to lend a helping hand to those who may be struggling in the heat. Check in with friends, neighbors or loved ones who may be in danger during this heat wave. Elderly people and people without access to air conditioning are at the greatest risk.
Peoria has five heat relief and hydration stations for those in need of assistance:
• Peoria City Hall, 8401 W.  Monroe St.; open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday (623-773-7000)
• Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson St.; open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday (623-773-7436)
• Peoria Community Services Department, 9875 N. 85th Ave.; open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday (623-773-7762)
• Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe St.; open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday (623-773-7555)
• Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N. 98th Ave.; open 9 a.m.. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday (623-773-8656)
