"1 Million Cups is hosted from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday. This weekly meeting connects attendees with resources to explore what is happening in the West Valley."

Welcome, everyone, to another edition of Business Briefcase, where we address all the great happenings in the local business world — whether it is openings, closings, construction and development, ribbon-cutting ceremonies and expansions, chamber mixers and networking events or something else.

This week, we’ll deal with various networking-centric events for local business owners and entrepreneurs to grow their status in the community. Here’s the news!

First, 1 Million Cups is hosted from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday. This weekly meeting connects attendees with resources to explore what is happening in the West Valley. It is targeted at anyone who is interested in entrepreneurship, including students, business leaders, founders and more. No registration or membership is required. It is located in Peoria on 14050 N. 83rd Avenue, Suite 290. For more information, email kristen.slice@asu.edu.

Moving along, to help local business, Kobargo Technology Partners will host an event called “Securing Your Company Data,” and the Peoria Chamber of Commerce is involved. It will teach business owners how to protect their financial futures, their brands and their reputations. Breakfast will also be provided. The event will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, at The Wigwam, 300 E. Wigwam Boulevard, Litchfield Park.  For more information, visit https://bit.ly/2ZFs1jl or contact Diana Eidson at 855-562-2740.

Also, for anyone who is an entrepreneur, business owner or other professional, there will be a free networking social from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 19. It will be held at Headquarters Grill Bar Sushi, 16041 N. Arrowhead Fountains Center Drive. There will be a happy hour, guest speaker and a Q&A session. For more information or to register, visit eventbrite.com/westvalleynetworkingsocial or find West Valley Networking Social on Facebook.

Finally, this year’s Recycle Your Bicycle campaign kicked off. Among the Earnhardt Auto Centers locations connecting new and gently used bicycles this month for Arizona kids in the foster care system is Earnhardt Peoria Kia, 17431 N. 91st Avenue. Once collected, the Arizona Association for Foster & Adoptive Parents will help distribute the bicycles during the winter holiday season. Last year more than 1,300 bicycles were distributed.

That’s all the briefs for this week. Thanks for reading!
