Credit union robber still at large

Peoria police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man subject who robbed a local Credit Union West earlier this month.

Around 4:55 p.m. July 2, the suspect walked into the Credit Union West at the southwest corner of Cactus Road and 67th Avenue, approached the teller and presented a written demand note.

The suspect reached toward his right waistband area, possibly implying he was armed. The teller complied with his demands.

Police have not released the amount of money that was stolen.

Upon exiting the bank, the suspect fled to the east into an adjacent parking lot, where he was seen getting into the front passenger side of an older-model, white Dodge extended-bed pick-up truck.

The suspect was described a Hispanic or Native American male, 25 to 35 years of age, and around 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with a heavy build.

He was wearing a black baseball cap with an emblem, eyeglasses, a blue/gray button-up, long-sleeve shirt, black pants and tan/yellow work-type boots.
