Bill Keswick's Farmers Insurance Agency presented their first March of Dimes Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, June 24 at The Legend at Arrowhead in Glendale. The tournament raised $7000 for the Phoenix chapter of March of Dimes.

The fund-raising effort, sponsored by ServPro of Northwest Phoenix/Anthem, attracted 84 golfers who braved triple-digit temperatures to golf for the March of Dimes. Tournament sponsors included Speedy Glass, ServiceMaster, Peoria Collision, Price Kong CPA, Epic A/C and Midway Collision.

March of Dimes is a favored charity of Farmers Insurance nationwide. Farmers agents have raised millions of dollars to help the March of Dimes mission of ensuring stronger and healthier babies. All of the money raised in this golf tournament will stay in the Phoenix area to promote the health and welfare of local children.

The north Glendale Farmers office also held other March of Dimes fund-raisers recently. The total of their fund-raising efforts over the past few weeks was $8,182. Keswick's agency was the leading Farmers office for March of Dimes fund-raising in the Phoenix area this year.

"We are very happy with the participation and the amount of money we raised given the extreme heat and the condition of our local economy," said Farmers agent Bill Keswick. "It was nearly 110 degrees when we completed the round, but everyone seemed to be in good spirits knowing that we raised a lot of money for a very worthy cause."

"We were very fortunate to have great support from our major sponsors, hole sponsors, golfers, and local businesses that donated prizes for our raffle and silent auction," Keswick added. "We feel very blessed that so many people stepped up for March of Dimes in these tough economic times."

Keswick's agency staff members are already preparing to produce another golf tournament in 2012 with even higher goals for participation and fundraising.
