A Peoria teacher is facing multiple new counts of child molestation, attempted child molestation and sexual abuse.
Ricky Ordway will be in court on Monday, Oct. 14, for a pre-trial conference appearance at the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Ordway, 43, faces more than 20 sexually-related charges reportedly committed against minors. He was a teacher at Sun Valley Elementary School in Peoria.
Ordway was arrested in May by Peoria police and originally charged with five counts of child molestation and one count of sexual abuse of minors.
According to the police report, on May 7, the Sun Valley Elementary School principal notified the Peoria police department about students’ accusations.
During the investigation it was discovered the alleged abuse by Ordway may have gone on for years.
The report also indicates an 11-year-old female victim told officers she “was sitting at Ordway’s desk when he pulled up her dress and underwear and touched her” while in class - which reportedly happened sometime in February.
“After rubbing the victim’s leg, he touched her (inappropriately),” the report continued. The victim said it felt “weird” and she was uncomfortable and didn’t like it when (Ordway) touched her.
Another victim told police, since September, Ordway “called her up to his desk, unbuttoned her pants and touched her several times.”
Ordway worked for the district since August 2016.
The morning of Ordway’s arrest, Sun Valley officials sent parents an email acknowledging his arrest and the accusations.
