Participate in a recycle fashion show during Planetpalooza Festival

WHAM Art Association and the city of Peoria are hosting a student and adult fashion show during the 3rd Annual Planetpalooza Earth Day Festival April 21 at Westwing Park, 27100 N. Westwing Pkwy. This year, the festival will feature a Recycle Fashion Show, where youth and adults can create high-fashion looks using recycled materials, walk the runway and compete for prizes. Apply for a 2019 arts grant

The Peoria Arts Commission is announcing its 2019 Arts Grant Program for nonprofit arts organizations. The purpose of the grant program is to inspire, enhance and support the arts in the city of Peoria. The Peoria Arts Commission will be awarding individual awards of up to $5,000. Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements and submit a grant proposal application to be considered. The deadline for submitting the application is April 2. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Peoria Main Library

According to legend, St. Patrick banished all of the snakes from Ireland. Come to the Peoria Main Library 10 a.m. March 17 at 10 a.m. to learn the truth about snakes and other reptiles. Upcoming construction at Peoria Main Library

The Peoria Main Library is undergoing construction on its roof mid-March through the beginning of August. The library and its services will continue to be available during this time.

Check out the Sonoran Desert Plein Air Festival

WHAM Art Association is hosting the Sonoran Desert Plein Air Festival April 6 to 8 at the Trilogy Mita Club at 30500 N. 131st Ave. in the Vistancia community. This three-day event includes artists painting on site, field demonstrations, painting instruction and art exhibition showcasing all the color changes in natural conditions, with the active role of light and air.
