A century is a long time.
The Peoria Chamber of Commerce knows that, as on Friday, June 14, officials will celebrate its 100th anniversary at the return of the organization’s annual awards banquet.
The event will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Rio Vista Community Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road, in the Riverside Room.
Tickets cost $60. Two tickets can be purchased for a discounted $110.
The program will begin with a cocktail hour and feature live music, catered dinner and a special presentation from Salt River Project. The history of Peoria and the chamber’s role in its progress from 1919 until it was incorporated in 1954 will be celebrated through photographs, videos and guest speakers.
Award categories include Business of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year and Chamber Member of the Year.
Sponsorships are available starting at $250 and increasing to $7,500.
Seating is limited, and chamber officials expect it to fill up early, so advance registration is required.
