As part of the various special interest classes taking place during the summer, the city of Peoria is hosting Movies by Kids camps. The camps are for children age 6 to 12 and consist of five classes that run 1 to 4 p.m. each day during the specified week. Attendees will learn the art of stop-motion animation using provided iPods to bring their worlds to life.

LEGO Super Hero Camp:

A ‘Hollywood-style’ movie camp where students will write, create and animate their own Lego super hero movies. The camp runs July 9 through 13 at Vistancia Mountain Vista Clubhouse, 29701 N Sunrise Point.

Minecraft with Legos:

Design a Minecraft world with Legos, and mold characters out of clay and putty to bring a world of imagination to life. The camp runs July 16 through 20 at Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road.

Fees for both camps are $140 for residents, $150 for non-residents. To register or for additional information, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/recreation, call 623-773-7137, or email Heather.Duffett@peoriaaz.gov or Andrea.Traganza@peoriaaz.gov.
