Glendale police responded to a call at Arrowhead Towne Center, after a suspect grabbed a male French bulldog from the “Puppies N Love” store and fled with it the afternoon of June 7.

According to police, witnesses reported the dognapper had possibly posted pictures on social media, showing him with the black and tan puppy before leaving with it. The dog was born April 6, is microchipped and requires medication.

Police followed up on each tip that was received within the department, through Silent Witness and to the store itself. Through those tips, Detective Beth Diaz and members of her squad identified suspects and were able to serve a search warrant July 26 near 7300 W. Maldanado Road in Phoenix. The poached pooch was received safely and two boys, ages 14 and 15, were arrested and transported to the juvenile detention facility for felony theft charges, police said.

Diaz and her team reunited the puppy with store personnel in the mall later that same day, police said.
