For the 39th year, the Dolly Sanchez Easter Egg Hunt was a shining success the day before Easter for the families and citizens of the West Valley.
Thousands of families packed Peoria Sports Complex for the annual event April 4 for egg hunts for kids of all ages.
“We have been coming to this event since our kids were all 1,” said Eduardo Vegas of Glendale. “My little ones are now grown with kids of their own, so know I come as grandpa.”
Kids were separated by age, and allowed to run onto the field to find candy and plastic eggs, which had prizes for anyone that found the eggs.
Families also got the chance to walk down Cottontail Lane and play carnival style games and do arts and crafts in Bunny Land at vendor booths. Fun Meadows allowed kids to pet zoo animals take a ride on a train and jump in jump houses.
“This is such a great event and it is nice to see how much it has grown,” said Peoria resident Manuel Gomez. “It is a fun family event and just the perfect way to honor a special woman.”
