First, Fabio on Fire, located at 8275 W. Lake Pleasant Parkway, Suite 101, is planning an expansion. If the restaurant receives approval from the city after a final inspection, Fabio on Fire will expand to the adjacent suit. The restaurant is scheduled to be closed until Tuesday, September 3.
For the rest of the week, Fabio on Fire is open from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Its website has a waiting list. For more information, visit fabioonfire.com or call 623-680-5385.
Four weeks ago, Mediterranean Greek restaurant Zainab Restaurant opened at 8520 W. Peoria Avenue. It has salads with choices like chicken, beef kabob or beef Shawarma, along with other toppings. For appetizers, there’s hummus, dolmas or an appetizer combo. Also, customers can try plates, sandwiches and even hamburgers. For youngsters, Zainab offers kids’ meals such as chicken tenders and hummus pita. To place an order or ask questions about the menu, call 602-460-8017. Zainab is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Moving along, the Peoria Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Dave & Buster’s annual holiday showcase along with the Glendale, Buckeye and Southwest Valley chambers on Thursday, August 29, at Dave & Buster’s at Westgate, 9460 W. Hanna Lane. The fun event will start at 5:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. There will be food, games and a cash bar as well as vendor tables at 6:30 p.m. The event is free to attend for chamber members. Finally, on Wednesday, September 18, there will be a chamber member-sponsored event about tax updates and 10 challenges for business owners. The complimentary workshop and free breakfast will feature local five-star CPA Adam Cary as well as top-rated financial advisor and APMA Doug Godfrey, who will help with the stresses of business. The event will cover new tax laws from 2018 as well as 10 challenges for business owners in 2019. The event is from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Rio Vista Community Center’s “break room.”
